Quit Now Virginia is a toll-free tobacco cessation phone counseling service that is provided to Virginia residents aged 13 and older 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers may receive one-on-one cessation counseling, information and self-help materials for residents who want to quit smoking or using tobacco.

The counseling offered by the specially trained Quit Coaches, combined with medication prescribed by healthcare providers, give the best chance of quitting successfully.

Teens can access all health services, but one important one is STI/STD testing. Our sexually transmitted infection program offers confidential counseling, diagnosis, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. Our program provides tests for the following STIs: Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and HIV. Getting tested is the only way to know if you have an STI.

School physicals

Primary and secondary school entrance and sports physicals are offered by the health department. During this exam, the healthcare provider will review the patient’s medical records to make sure that their vaccinations are up to date for their age and will complete an examination of the patient’s health in order to ensure that they are healthy enough to go to school or play a sport.
