Goodwill works to enhance people’s dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.
Services
Goodwill trains people for careers in industries such as banking, IT and health care, to name a few, and get the supportive services they needed to be successful, such as English language training, additional education, and access to transportation and child care. There are also goodwill stores located all over the US and canada of donated items for people to purchase.
Who we primarily serve
People of all ages in the United States and Canada in 3,300 stores. In addition to the stores we service. Goodwill provides access to employment at our stores, career planning, skills development and digital training, job search and interview skills help, financial planning, and job training. Employment is available to all regardless of ability status.
Activities
There are hiring events located in the harrisonburg area. In the greater goodwill valley area there are job fairs as well as autism competency training, spring festivals, dinner in the dark fundraisers, back 2 school block parties. During the coronavirus outbreak, career and education training classes are offered online through the goodwill valley website.
