Who we primarily serve
Residents in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community. There is a sliding scale for services in which payment is dependent on medical insurance. Those with Medicaid can access our services.
Activities
Because our services are mental health treatment based, there are not community based activities we spear head. We do, however, collaborate with MANY community organizations to host booths to provide information and assist with funding strategies that promote wellness and awareness.
Teen Opportunities
the intake process can be a bit overwhelming as it includes history in family dynamics, trauma, physical health, the prospective client’s goals, and the financial intake. After the intake, the clinician will go over what services the client would most benefit from, discuss cost, and answer any lingering questions. The goal is to be as transparent as possible, as navigating the health care system is already so difficult—even for adults who have years of experience!
Family Information
The McNulty Center for Children and Families is the building where all our services geared towards families and those under the age of 18 are housed. Because we are a person-centered model for treatment, that often means each of our service areas incorporates family needs as well.
Service Accessibility
The best place to start is our website: https://www.hrcsb.org/. Get familiar with what we provide, and what the intake process is like—including the documents you’ll need to bring with you the day of. Then, I’d recommend calling to speak with our clerical staff about an appointment. Typically, we have intakes come during our same-day access hours—but in light of COVID-19 we are scheduling intakes for the foreseeable future.
You can stay engaged in services for all long as treatment staff deem it beneficial, or stop at any time! You can also reengage, as often as you need—there are no limits.
Unique Information
Probably that we exist! There are 40 CSBs in the state of Virginia to provide coverage for all localities. Our CSB’s catchment area is Harrisonburg-Rockingham. All CSBs provide 9 core service areas:
· Crisis Services
· Targeted Case Management
· Primary Care screening and monitoring
· Armed Forces and veteran services
· Peer support and Family support
· Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services
· Outpatient mental health and substance abuse services
· Patient-centered treatment planning
· Screening, assessment and diagnosis (including risk assessment)
No referral necessary, and no government assistance necessary either.
Therapists and counselors are people, and there are always going to be people you either click with or not. If you don’t feel like you’re connecting to a health care profession, you can always request another one!
